Camper Code of Conduct

By confirming your attendance at camp you agree to the following:

CAMPER CODE OF CONDUCT

Please carefully read the following code of conduct and accept at the bottom of the form:

Respect for Vidya
Always maintain the utmost respect for teachers, other campers, Gutka Sahibs/Sainchi Sahibs/Gurbani, notebooks/books, saaj (instruments). Campers should wash their hands and use a hajooria when holding Gurbani Ji.

Harassment and bullying, having harmful intent to harm other campers/instructors
There is no tolerance for bullying or harassment of any manner during camp. By joining the Gursevak camp, you are agreeing to be respectful to the instructors and peers at all times; and to not have any harmful intent towards campers/instructors. Campers are encouraged to refrain from profanity/vulgarity. Any harassment or bullying can be taken up with local law enforcement provided the severity whether in camp, outside of camp, or on social media/internet.

Maintaining judgement free learning environment
At all times, all campers must maintain a judgement-free learning environment in which every camper feels welcomed and respected. Each camper is at a different learning phase, it is important to be mindful and practice forbearance.

Sexual/verbal harassment or anything perceived as false accusations
As per Gurmat Maryada, campers are to take their peers of either gender as their siblings (brother/sister). There is no tolerance for any unwarranted communication/contact towards the opposite/same gender. Any unwarranted communication/contact towards the opposite/same gender can be taken up with local law enforcement. False accusations of any sort will be dealt with severe consequences that may lead to an immediate dismissal from the classes and possible further legal consequences.

Safety
At times, Gursevak Gurmat Camp will have activities in which campers are physically active. While participating in all activities, it is important to be mindful of your safety and the safety of others. Be aware of your surroundings and ensure that you are being safe in all situations.

Behaviour (order and disorder)
All campers are to keep an enthusiastic and receptive learning behaviour. Any misconduct or negative behaviour can be grounds for dismissal from the camp. Negative behaviour can include but is not limited to, disobeying instructors, disrupting the class, encouraging mischievous conduct, etc.

Punctuality
Everyone is encouraged to be punctual in both their attitude and physical conduct. Please come on time to camp. All parents are responsible for picking up their kids from camp on time as well.

Maintaining the sanctity of Gurdwara Sahib
Campers are encouraged to be mindful of the Gurdwara Sahib setting and conduct their behaviour accordingly to upkeep the sanctity of the Gurmat Rehat Maryada.

Alcohol, tobacco, coming under influence
All campers must keep an intoxicant/drug free learning environment while attending the camp. Any camper violating this will be immediately dismissed from the camp as well as face all possible legal consequences on behalf of the Gurdwara management.

Appropriate attire
It is the primary goal of Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) to upkeep panthic traditions and maryada, of which physical bana (chola/suit/traditional clothing) is highly encouraged. Furthermore, campers must wear appropriate attire which is respectful of the premises of the Gurughar. This includes: modest clothing, head covering, no socks in the Darbar Sahib, etc.

Liability Waiver Form

Please carefully read the following liability waiver and accept at the bottom of the form:

Acknowledgement
I grant permission to Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) for the use of the photograph(s) or electronic media images as identified below in any presentation of any and all kind whatsoever. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) in writing. The revocation will not affect any actions taken before the receipt of this written notification. Images will be stored in a secure location and only authorized staff will have access to them.

Medical Authorization
In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I allow Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) to provide first aid, arrange transport to a medical facility, and authorise emergency treatment as recommended by a doctor for the camper named in the form.

Liability Waiver Form
I, the signatory, voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks or loss, property damage, or personal injury that may be sustained by the enrolled camper, or loss or damage to property owned by him/her, as a result of participation in this course. I, the signatory, must arrange for my child to be picked up at the end of camp (3pm), and understand that Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) are not responsible for any untoward occurrence of any kind during the signatory's absence before, during or after camp.

I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) and/or the Sri Gurdwara Jot Prakash Sahib Toronto (Canada), their management, agents, volunteers, employees, successors and assigns, and their respective heirs, personal representatives, affiliates, successors and assigns, and any and all persons, firms or corporations liable or who might be claimed to be liable, whether or not herein named, none of whom admit any liability to the undersigned, but all expressly denying liability, from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, causes of action or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever, which I now have or may hereafter have, arising out of or in any way relating to any and all injuries and damages of any and every kind, to both person and property, and also any and all injuries/death and damages that may develop in the future, as a result of or in any way relating to the following:

Sri Gurdwara Jot Prakash Sahib Toronto (Canada)
135 Sun Pac Blvd, Brampton, ON L6S 5Z6

And/or any other event organized by Dear Father Brave Guru God's Slave Society (Gursevak Sevadaars) that may take place at a different location/time.

This Release has been carefully read and fully understood by the undersigned (the signatory). The terms have been explained to me and I am freely, knowingly and voluntarily entering into this Release.
