ਅੱਖਰ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ:-

ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਸਿਖੌਣ, ਟਕਸਾਲ ਚਲੌਣ ਲਈ, ਪਰਮ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਟੀਚਰ ਜੀ, ਹੇਠਾਂ ਲਿਖੇ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਪੜੑ ਕੇ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੱਸਣ, ਅਪਣੇ ਮਗਰ ਕਹੌਣ, ਬੱਚਾ ਟੀਚਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ।

The Origin of Sound for Gurmukhee Letters:- In order to learn and teach Gurmukhee and run the Taksaaal, the utmost respectable saⁿthaa teacher should read the sound origin for the Gurmukhee letters below, teach the sound origin to the beloved children and have the kids repeat after them. The child should look at the teacher’s mouth and repeat.

^੧ੳ ਊੜਾ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਨਮਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅੱਖਰ ਹੈ। ਊੜਾ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਣਾ, ਇਹ ਸਵਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਬੁੱਲੑਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਊੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਔਂਕੜ (ੁ), ਦੁਲੈਂਕੜੇ (ੂ), ਹੋੜਾ (ੋ) ਤਿੰਨ ਲਗਾਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਓ, ਊੜੇ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੁੱਲੑਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੋੜਾ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਊੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਪੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ, ਬਿੰਦੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।

1. ੳ oorraa:- The first letter of the Gurmukhee alphabet is ੳ oorraa . It is not said as a muktaa, it is savar. The sound origin is from the mouth. Aunkarr  (ੁ),  dulainkarr (ੂ),  and horraa  (ੋ) are the three lags that can be attached to ੳ oorraa. If the topmost semicircle in ਓ oorraa is open, it produces the sound of horraa (ੋ). A ttepee is not attached to ੳ oorraa, a bendee can be attached to it.

^੨ਅ ਐੜਾ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਨਮਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਵਰ ਅੱਖਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੰਠ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤਾ, ਕੰਨਾ (ਾ), ਦੁਲਾਂ (ੈ), ਕਨੌੜਾ (ੌ) ਇਹ ਚਾਰ ਲਗਾਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।   

 2. ਅ airraa:- The second savar letter of the Gurmukhee alphabet is ਅ airraa. Its pronunciation is from the voicebox. Muktaa, kannaa (ਾ), dulaan (ੈ) and kanaurraa (ੌ) are four lags that can be attached to ਅ airraa.

^੩ੲ ਈੜੀ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਵਰਨਮਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਵਰ ਅੱਖਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤਾਲੂ ਹੈ।  ਸਿਹਾਰੀ (ਿ), ਬਿਹਾਰੀ (ੀ), ਲਾਂ (ੇ) ਤਿੰਨ ਲਗਾਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਈੜੀ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ੩੨ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

3. ੲ eerree:- The third savar letter of the Gurmukhee alphabet is ੲ eerree. Its pronunciation is from the mouth palate. ੲ eerree is not said as a muktaa. Sehaaree (ਿ), behaaree (ੀ) and laan (ੇ) are the three lags that can be attached to ੲ eerree. Hereon, the remaining 32 letters all have the 10 lags attached to them.

^੪ਸ ਸੱਸਾ:- ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੰਦ ਹਨ। ^੫ਹ ਹਾਹਾ, ^੬ਕ ਕੱਕਾ, ^੭ਖ ਖੱਖਾ, ^੮ਗ ਗੱਗਾ, ^੯ਘ ਘੱਗਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਕੰਠ ਹੈ। ^੧੦ਙ ਙੰਙਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੰਠ, ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ^੧੧ਚ ਚੱਚਾ, ^੧੨ਛ ਛੱਛਾ, ^੧੩ਜ ਜੱਜਾ, ^੧੪ਝ ਝੱਜਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤਾਲੂ ਹੈ। ^੧੫ਞ ਞੰਞਾ ਤਾਲੂ ਤੇ ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਉਚਾਰੋ। ^੧੬ਟ ਟੈਂਕਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ, ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਉਚਾਰੋ। ^੧੭ਠ ਠੱਠਾ, ^੧੮ਡ ਡੱਡਾ, ^੧੯ਢ ਢੱਡਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਹੈ। ^੨੦ਣ ਣਾਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਤੇ ਨਾਸਿਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਚਾਰੋ।  

4. ਸ sasaa:- the sound origin is from the teeth. 5. ਹ haahaa, 6. ਕ kakaa, 7. ਖ khakhaa, 8. ਗ gagaa, 9. ਘ ghagaa  are all pronounced from the voicebox. 10. ਙ ngangaa: The sound origin is from the voicebox and nose. 11. ਚ chachaa, 12. ਛ chhachhaa, 13. ਜ jajaa, 14. ਝ jhajaa are all pronounced from the hard palate. 15.ਞ njanjaa: The sound origin is from the hard palate and nose. 16. ਟ tainkaa, 17. ਠ tthatthaa, 18. ਡ ddaddaa, 19. ਢ ddhaddaa are pronounced from the roof of the mouth. 20. ਣ nnaannaa: The sound origin is from the roof of the mouth and the nostrils.

‍^੨੧ਤ ਤੱਤਾ, ^੨੨ਥ ਥੱਥਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੰਦ ਹਨ। ^੨੩ਦ ਦੱਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੰਦ ਹਨ, ਜੀਭ ਦੀ ਨੋਕ, ਉੱਪਰਲੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ’ਚ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਬਦ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ^੨੪ਧ ਧੱਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੰਦ ਹਨ। ^੨੫ਨ ਨੰਨਾ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਨੱਕ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਚਾਰੋ।

21. ਤ tataa, 22. ਥ thathaa  the sound origin is from the teeth. 23. ਦ dadaa pronounce it by touching the tip of your tongue behind your top teeth. 24. ਧ dhadaa the sound origin is from the teeth. 25. ਨ nannaa: Say this sound from your teeth and nose.

^੨੬ਪ ਪੱਪਾ, ^੨੭ਫ ਫੱਫਾ, ^੨੮ਬ ਬੱਬਾ, ^੨੯ਭ ਭੱਬਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਬੁੱਲੑ ਹਨ। ^੩੦ਮ ਮੰਮਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਬੁੱਲੑ, ਨਾਸਿਕਾਂ ਹਨ। ^੩੧ਯ ਯਯਾ ਤਾਲੂ ਤੋਂ ਉਚਾਰੋ। ^੩੨ਰ ਰਾਰਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਛੱਤ ਹੈ। ^੩੪ਵ ਵਾਵਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੰਦ, ਬੁੱਲੑ ਹਨ। ^੩੫ੜ ੜਾੜਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਹੈ।

26. ਪ papaa, 27. ਫ phaphaa, 28. ਬ babaa, 29. ਭ bhabaa are all pronounced from the lips. 30. ਮ manmaa: The sound origin is from the lips and nostrils. 31. ਯ YaYaa The sound origin is from the soft palate. 32. ਰ raaraa Pronounce it from the mouth. 33. ਲ lalaa Pronounce it from the roof of the mouth. 34. ਵ vaavaa: The sound origin is from the teeth and lips. 35. ੜ rraarraa The sound origin is from the roof of the mouth.
