੨੧. ਪਰਮਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਵਿਆਪੀ ਅਨਤ ਕਲਾਵਾਨ ਮਹਾਂ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਹੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ:- ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਨ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਿਖਣ ਵੀਚਾਰਨ, ਨਿੱਤਨੇਮ, ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਹੀ ਮਹਾਂ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਅਨੰਦ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ’ਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਜੀ ’ਚ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੇ, ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਿਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਭਜਨ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਅਸੰਖ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਾਉ, ਜਮਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੋ ਬਚਾਉ।

21. All pervading, all powerful, great blissful praises upon praises of parampoojneek Gurmukhee Jee:- Through Gurmukhee, we can obtain Gurbaannee Vaaheguroo Jee. The great joy and pure bliss of reading, listening to, writing, contemplating S_ree Gurbaannee Jee and doing netnaym, kathaa, keertan is obtained through Gurmukhee. The correct pronunciation of S_ree Gurbaannee Jee can only be done in Gurmukhee. Hence, by learning Gurmukhee, obtain the gifts of Gurbaannee, kathaa, keertan, devotion, meditation, worship and countless good virtues from Dhaⁿn S_ree Guroo G_raⁿth Saaheb Jee, make your children obtain it as well, and save yourself along with others from the messengers of death and reincarnations.  

ਸਭ ਤੇ ਵਡਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ; ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਖਿਮਾ ਸਹਿਜ ਧੀਰਜ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ, ਅਨਤ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ, ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ, ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਰਚੀ। (ਗੁਰ+ਮੁਖੀ) ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਖਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਣੇ ਕਰਕੇ, ਇਸ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਪੈਂਤੀ ਅੱਖਰ ਲਗਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ, ਉਨੑਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਵਰਣਮਾਲਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤੀ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਭਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ’ਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਸਰਬੋਤਮ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਤਾ। ਜੈਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ’ਚ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ, ਦੂਜਾ ਇਸ ’ਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਧੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਉਚਾਰੇ ਹਨ। ਯਥਾ:- ਸਸੈ. ਸੋਇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜੀ; ਸਭਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ. ਏਕੁ ਭਇਆ॥

sabh tay vaddaa sateguru naanaku; Being the ocean of peace, forgiveness, tranquility, patience, love, and infinite good virtues, the master of countless powers, founder of the Sekh faith, God themselves, S_ree Guroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee created the dialect of Gurmukhee. (Gur+Mukhee): This dialect is called Gurmukhee because it was uttered from the Holy Mouth of the (Mukhee) leader, first (Gur) Guroo. By creating the appearances and sounds of the 35 letters and 10 vowels, they made and established their own unique alphabet, which is superior to all the other languages in the world. By uttering the form of ambrosial nectar, utmost pure, utmost praiseworthy, true Gurbaannee Jee in Gurmukhee, they made it even more utmost praiseworthy and superior. Firstly, the Perfect Guroo created it, so it is complete within itself; secondly, they uttered the form of ambrosial nectar, true Gurbaannee Jee within it. Yathaa:- sasai soe, sᵣestte jene saajee; sabhnaa saahebu. ayku bhaeaa॥.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ’ਚ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਔਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਬਾਲਾ ਜੀ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਾਪਨੂੰ ਖਡੂਰੀਆ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਚੇ ਲਾਲਚੰਦ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿਆਏ, ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰਤਾ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ, ਪੂਰਨ ਅਦਬ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ, ਅਵਤਾਰ ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣੇ ਸੀਸ ’ਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਓ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਾਸਨਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਹੀ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।” ਦੇਵਨਾਗਰੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ’ਚ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ, “ਐਸਾ ਕੌਣ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ’ਚ ਲਿਖ ਦੇਵੇ।” ਤਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੁਲਤਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਪੈੜਾਮੋਖਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਧੰਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ’ਚ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਹੈ। ਯਥਾ:- ਸੋਰਠਾ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਾਨ; ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗੁ ਬਿਦਤ ਜੱਬ॥ ਸੰਗਤ ਕੀਨ ਮਹਾਨ; ਜਾਨੀ ਬਿੱਦਿਆ ਵਰਨ ਤੱਬ॥ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਾ: ਪ੍ਰ:) ਉਪ੍ਰੋਕਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਅੱਖਰ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਰਚੇ, ਅੱਗੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਏ।

As per S_ree Guroo Naanak P_rakaash G_raⁿth, when Bhaaee Baalaa Jee and Laalaa Panooⁿ Jee (from Khaddoor Saaheb) got Sateguroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee’s Avtaar Pat_ree from Sateguroo Saaheb Jee’s Chaachaa Laalchaⁿd Jee and brought it to S_ree Guroo Aⁿgaddayv Jee Maahraaj, they got extremely pleased. Out of respect, they got up from their throne, and with complete respect, faith, reverence and love, they put the Avtaar Pat_ree on their head and said, “You just blessed daasan daas with the vision of my Beloved.” Seeing the letters written in Dayvnaagree, they gave an order: “Which beloved here knows Dayvnaagree and Gurmukhee and could write this Avtaar Pat_ree in Parampoojneek Gurmukhee letters?” Then, Gursekhs told them that there is a Sekh from Sultaanpureeyaa named Pairraamokhaa, who did the great saⁿgat and sayvaa of dhaⁿn Guroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee Maahraaj and learned b_rahmvedeaa in Gurmukhee from them. Yathaa:- sortthaa॥ sategur k_repaa nedhaan; guroo naanak jagu bedat jab॥ saⁿgat keen mahaan; jaanee bedeaa varan tab॥ (S_ree Guroo Naanak P_rakaash G_raⁿth). According to the aforementioned historical reference, S_ree Guroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee created the Gurmukhee letters and then further taught them to others.
