੨੫. ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਵਾਸੀ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿਖੇ, ਗੋਦਾਵਰੀ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ’ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੱਥ ਮਾਂਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਗੜਵਈ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ! ਨਦੀ ’ਚ ਖੜੑਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ੳ ਅ ਪੈਂਤੀ ਅੱਖਰ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਪੜੑ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?” ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ! ਇਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਗਿਆਨੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਮਿੱਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨੑਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤੀ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਮਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਚਰਨਕਮਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਚੁਭੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਨੑਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਦੇ ਪੈਂਤੀ ਅੱਖਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖੋਂ ਨਿਕਲੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੜੑਦੇ ਹਨ।” ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗੜਵਈ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਸੋ ਬਾਬਾ ਮਿੱਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਜਣਾ ਕੇ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਪੜੑਨ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਤਾ।

25. While at S_ree Hazoor Saaheb, Dweller of Sachkhaⁿd Saⁿt Baabaa Gurbachan Seⁿgh Saaheb Khaalsaa Jee were washing their hands at the edge of the Godaavaree River during Aⁿm_ret vaylaa. Their personal assistant Suvaran Seⁿgh Jee asked, “Baabaa Jee! Why is there a Siⁿgh standing in the river reading ੳ ਅ  and the rest of the 35 letters again and again?” Then Saⁿt Gurbachan Seⁿgh Jee said, “O Gurmukhaa! That is B_rahmgeaanee Baabaa Mt Seⁿgh Jee, whose consciousness is absorbed in the parampoojneek, true Lotus Feet of Sateguroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee. It is their love that the 35 letters of Gurmukhee came from the mouth of Vaaheguroo Sateguroo Naanakdayv Saaheb Jee, that is why they are repeatedly bowing their head and reading them.” Listening to this, Bhaaee Suvaran Seⁿgh Jee went into a state of bliss. So Baabaa Mt Seⁿgh Jee, recognizing the great significance of the Gurmukhee script, imparted the message to the world to learn and read Gurmukhee.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ’ਚ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਲਿੱਪੀ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਬੋਲੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਪੈਂਤੀ ਅੱਖਰੀ ’ਚੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੜੑੌਣ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਚੰਚਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਅੱਖਰ ਪੜੑ ਪੜੑਾ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਂ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁੰਨ, ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਟਿਕਾਅ ਫਲ਼ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਨੰਦ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ’ਚ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜੑਨ ਸੁਣਨ, ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਂ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਧੁਨਿ ’ਚ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਬੋਲੀ ’ਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਪੜੑ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਥਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਅਰਥ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕੇ, ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਿਖਾਅ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਥਾ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰਤਾ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਿਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਪਣੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਸੁਰਤ ਦਿਲ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼ ’ਚ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਦੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹੋਣ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ।

The Gurmukhee script is complete within itself. The pronunciation of every language can be written or uttered from the 35 letters of Gurmukhee. Hence, by leaving Gurmukhee and learning other languages, children cannot obtain Gurbaannee Jee, and instead become restless. By learning and teaching the Gurmukhee letters and memorizing the corresponding vowels associated with them in Gurbaannee Jee, one obtains countless deeds, bliss and peace for the soul, and rewards. The complete bliss that lies in reading and listening to Gurbaannee Jee in the Gurmukhee letters, and listening to the utmost beautiful, sweet, true melody of kathaa and keertan cannot be found in any other language. Hence, the beloved Gursekhs should get exalted and get Sateguroo Saaheb Jee’s happiness by i) reading Gurmukhee and doing saⁿthaa of Gurbaannee Jee with enthusiasm, love and respect; ii) contemplating on the meanings of Gurbaannee Jee; iii) doing and teaching kathaa and keertan; iv) teaching saⁿthaa of Gurbaannee Jee; v) obtaining Gurbaannee Jee in their consciousness, heart and brain at all times from Vaaheguroo Sateguroo G_raⁿth Saaheb Jee, who are seated on the throne of Gurooship; and vi) obtaining loving devotion of Guroo Saaheb with the unity of Guroo Saaheb’s formless and manifest forms.
